Therapy Services Offered

Specialised psychotherapy for trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and health-related challenges like cancer and chronic pain.

EMDR trauma therapy - £80

Expert support for individuals dealing with trauma. EMDR is an acronym for 'Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing'. It is a powerful psychological treatment method.

EMDR is a trauma-informed, solution focused therapy that was founded by Francine Shapiro (psychologist) in 1987 for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Although initially developed to treat adults suffering from PTSD, it is now also used to treat other conditions such as Loss, Injury, Accident, Assault, Rape, Illness, Depression, Anxiety, Panic, Phobias, Fears, Physical and Sexual Abuse and Low Self Esteem and Confidence.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or CBT is a type of talking therapy. It stresses the importance of behaving in ways that challenge negative thoughts and unhelpful beliefs.

CBT is a common treatment for a range of mental health difficulties.

CBT helps you examine some of the beliefs you have, often founded in early experiences, to see your situation in different ways and to build up coping skills.

Health difficulties can impact our daily life and impact on our wellbeing. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) can help us to see clearly and develop ways of changing our perspective in order to live life more fully within our limitations.

We do this by focusing on values, being able to be more mindful and develop skills in 'letting go' of unhelpful thoughts and feelings (Defusion).

We can develop a greater understanding of our difficulties and be able to be more compassionate towards ourselves using skills from Compassion focused therapy (CFT).

Psychotherapy and Counselling are terms to describe support based on developing greater understanding of yourself and your difficulties in order to move forward.

Counselling and psychotherapy will help you identify difficulties associated with your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships with others.

Perhaps something unsettling has happened, such as a bereavement, redundancy, divorce or health scare. There may be something in your past that’s not been dealt with and is now interfering with your daily life. Or you may want help to cope with issues such as anxiety, stress or personal problem solving. You may feel isolated and have no one to talk to, but sometimes even those with the most supportive friends and family can find it difficult to explain why they’re feeling anxious or depressed. Or you might just find it easier to talk about personal, family or relationship issues with someone independent.
